How 1:1 sessions can help your child come leaps and bounds in their skills

Here at Gymfinity Kids, we love to see children develop their talents and come leaps and bounds in their gymnastics and ninja skills!

A brilliant way to lay the building blocks to get them to higher levels and hone their skills and techniques is to give them 1:1 sessions with our experienced coaches. These dedicated hour-long sessions provide brilliant personal coaching where you can often see skills improve drastically in one session.

But what happens in a 1:1 session and why are they so helpful to your child’s skills? We speak to coach Alfie at our Wandsworth club to find out more. 

What can you expect from a 1:1 session? 

1:1 sessions can really help your child as the coach has the chance to watch their techniques carefully and break down skills to help the child perform to the best of their abilities.  

Coaches will be focused on one child in these sessions so they won’t miss a thing and can pick up on the smallest tweaks to help them improve. They get to watch skills repeatedly and work together to perfect them as they have a full hour to get the child to focus. 

These sessions can fit in so much practice on either a variety of skills or one in particular. Repetition and tailoring the training to the child is key to helping drill them to perfection, without sacrificing the fun and support that Gymfinity is known for of course!  

Coaches utilise games for skills and progressions, the sessions are fully tailored to the requests of the child and the parent and no 2 are ever the same plus the sessions are fully tailored to the requests of the child and parent. No two sessions are the same!

How often do you recommend a 1:1 session? 

If your child is new to gymnastics or ninja, then as many 1:1 sessions as possible are recommended! Once a week would be amazing for your child, however, we understand it is a financial commitment.

Ideally, an experienced Gymfinity member could attend once a month, or even every 3-6 months. These sessions can act as a focused checkup on their progression.

  • Wandsworth and Walton-on-Thames (opening February 2023): £40 
  • All other clubs: £35
